Our story

A specialist trade, since 1999

Darrin Straub started Advanced Stucco Repair in 1999 because too many stucco and EIFS problems were being treated as surface problems. A crack got caulked, a stain got painted, and the water that caused both kept getting into the wall. His approach was to find the water path first and repair the whole system, not just the finish coat.

That approach fits Dunwoody’s buildings well. The city’s offices, hotels, shopping centers and multifamily communities were built over several decades, with every generation of stucco and EIFS represented. A Perimeter-area mid-rise, a neighborhood shopping center and a garden-style condo community each fail in their own ways, and each needs a contractor who understands how it was built.

We are based in Canton and work across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, and Dunwoody’s location at I-285 and GA 400 makes it a regular part of our service area. Our clients here are property managers, condo and HOA boards, owners, asset managers and general contractors. What they get from us is the same on every project: a diagnosis before any cutting, a written scope they can take to a board or lender, work planned around tenants and residents, and a finish matched across the facade.

The ASR standard

What you can expect on every building

From a single leaking storefront to a full condominium recoat, the same six commitments apply.

Diagnose before we cut

Moisture readings at windows, joints and parapets, plus water testing where the leak path is unclear, so the scope matches the real damage.

Readings, not guesswork

Fix the water path

We correct the failed sealant, flashing or termination that let water in, so the same elevation does not need the same repair again.

Cause closed, not covered

Scopes boards can approve

Photos, readings and an itemized scope by elevation that separates urgent water intrusion from cosmetic work, with phasing options for budgets and reserves.

Written and itemized

Work around occupants

Phased elevations, open entrances and noisy work scheduled around tenants, residents and business hours.

Occupied-building planning

Build it in the right layers

Sheathing, weather barrier, flashing, lath, base and finish installed and lapped in order, with proper cure time between coats.

Correct from the studs out

Match the facade

Custom pigment and aggregate blends, sample areas for approval, and recoats corner to corner where a patch would show.

Color & texture matched
How we work

From site walk to finished facade

Every commercial project follows the same three steps, so managers, boards and owners know what is happening and why.

Site walk & survey

We walk the elevations with you, review leak reports and past repairs, and take moisture readings at the details that fail first.

  • Leak reports reviewed
  • Readings by elevation
  • Photo documentation

Written scope & quote

You receive an itemized scope by elevation, with repair and recoat options and a phasing plan that fits budgets, reserves and approvals.

  • Itemized by elevation
  • Urgent vs. cosmetic
  • Phasing options

Phased repair & finish

Crews work elevation by elevation, replace wet substrate, correct flashing and sealants, and finish with a matched color and texture.

  • Access & safety planned
  • Daily cleanup
  • Matched finish

In our clients’ words

Long-term clients on what it is like to work with Advanced Stucco Repair on stucco repair and water intrusion work.

★★★★★
“We had a section of our wall that was crumbling, and I was worried the repairs would stand out. Not only did they fix the issue, but they matched the color and texture so perfectly that I honestly can’t tell where the damage was.”

How we work in Dunwoody

We do not keep an office in Dunwoody. We bring the survey, the scope and the crew to your property.

Every Dunwoody project starts with a site walk at the property, usually with the property manager, board member or superintendent who knows the building. We look at the elevations, talk through the building’s rules for access and hours, and then put everything in writing. From there, the same team carries the work from survey to final finish.

On-site surveys

Site walks and moisture surveys at your Dunwoody property, scheduled with the people who manage it.

Written scopes

Itemized scopes boards, owners and lenders can review and approve.

One trade contractor

The same specialist team from survey and substrate repair to the final finish coat.

What types of Dunwoody properties do you work on?
Office buildings and office parks, shopping centers and retail, condominiums and HOAs, apartment communities, restaurants, hotels and new construction for general contractors and developers.
